Papers, 1917-1977.

The collection includes correspondence between Hager and Jeannette Vander Werp (later his wife), outlines of many of Hager's sermons, and reel to reel tapes of his radio broadcasts (1951-1977). The tapes of Hager's braodcasts have been sampled. All programs from 1951-1964, 1966, 1969, 1972, 1975, and 1977 have been retained.

Harry Hager graduated from Hope College in 1920 and from Western Theological Seminary in 1924. Hager served several pastorates during his career, most notably Bethany Reformed Church in Chicago (1929-1975). Radio outreach was a significant part of Hager's work and he served as a pioneer in the emerging media ministry.
